In August, 17 women arrived in Alicante for a few days in the Spanish sunshine. Most didn't know each other. By the end, they left describing it as life-affirming, healing and unforgettable. We went on a cruise, journalled together, did yoga, explored a Spanish town, floated around the pool and we got lucky enough to experience an eclipse together. There were games, karaoke, dancing, long dinners and a lot of ridiculousness in between. And the best bit was probably not any of that. It was meeting each other and spending time together. There's something really special about being in a house full of women who share similar experiences, with women who see life through the same lens. You don't have to explain yourself. You don't have to look around the room wondering if anyone else gets it. Suddenly you recognise yourself in everyone around you. With BFF we want every lesbian to experience what that feels like. That's why BFF retreats are friendship first. They're about laughing until you can't breathe, talking absolute nonsense, being vulnerable, feeling loved and finding people you might never have met otherwise.
